New URL Structure

Linking to your joke page just got a whole lot easier!

Today we implemented a new website page structure. The website used to operate on complex, dynamic URLs that are quite ugly, and not very user friendly. They are also not very good for search engine optimization purposes.

An example of what a user page USED to look like:

http://www.thatswhatshetweets.com/?userID=1&username=desrosj

Here is what the user pages look like now:

http://www.thatswhatshetweets.com/users/desrosj/

As you can see, much easier to remember, and most importantly, more user friendly for you, the user!

It is also easier to access jokes via the new link structure.

This is an old joke link:

http://www.thatswhatshetweets.com/?userID=1&jokeID=1

This is what a joke link looks like now:

http://www.thatswhatshetweets.com/users/desrosj/jokes/1/

And of course, accessing other pages in our website are much easier as well. Ex.:

http://www.thatswhatshetweets.com/about/

http://www.thatswhatshetweets.com/submit/

http://www.thatswhatshetweets.com/contact/
